The Foundry Division

The smelting section consists of state- of- the-art medium frequency induction furnaces for melting scrap gold as well as pure gold.

Electric furnaces are used rather than gas furnaces to produce homogeneous bars. Samples used in the assay laboratory for determining the fineness of the gold must be representative of the entire batch from which it was taken. This can only be achieved if the bar from which it was taken is homogeneous.

The foundry section is where homogeneous bars are made.

Preparation of scrap gold grains is important for the refining process.

Scrap gold is melted using induction furnaces and then converted into grains using the granulation system which is part of the foundry section.

Pure gold powder is melted and converted into grains and cast into bars in the foundry.

Converting gold and silver large bars into small bars is also done in the foundry division.
